We have been touched by the record flooding in Rhode Island
Geez, sometimes, it just doesn't end....we have had torrential rain over the last few weeks here in Rhode Island and the last few days proved to me too much for all of our Indian named Rivers. My daughter Kelly lives on one of the rivers and yesterday was part of a mandatory evacuation. She went back today to find that she had lost everything. You know kids, they can't afford much when on their own at first and she didn't have renters insurance. Such a shame. I told her that I thought maybe it was God's way of giving her a new start.....doesn't help. :-(

ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your daughter. It is impossible to stop that water! I wonder if renter's insurance would have covered a flood? We used to live near a river and had to have special flood insurance.

ReplyDeleteWe went through a flooding experience also, only it was caused by a faucet that broke and was running for 5 days while we were gone. Nothing was covered by our insurance because it was considered a FLOOD and we didn't have flood insurance. What a mess!!! I hope she has lots of help to clean up.

ohhhh Michelle, that is just a horrible thing to happen... this rain has been unreal. Your poor daughter. Thankfully she is okay. Rhode Island got it bad though...
ReplyDeleteMy son's house is right on the Hockanum River so I worry every time we have heavy rains. They flooded last year, but thankfully have the sump pumps going and the river didn't rise enough this time.
